Hello – my name is Mark Eley.
Having become interested in amateur golf in 2011 I soon realised it was far from easy to follow all of the leading players and elite events. The need for a single reference point for Great British and Irish amateur golf was obvious so I set about creating it.
I didn’t want it to be about me so I sought an independent name for my work. I opted for ‘Golf Bible’.

On 1st May 2013 I set up a twitter account (@GolfBible) my aim being to build a community and to promptly communicate competition news and results.
In November 2013 I opened a GolfBible Pinterest account. I have collected thousands of photos here covering all aspects of the game. Please take a look below – I am sure you will find something of interest.
In October 2014 I established this website so that I could provide more detailed information on upcoming events, rankings and occasionally profiles of famous amateur golfers.
In December 2015 I established a separate Golf Bible Walker Cup website. I did this for two reasons; 1) I wanted to collate as much information on this match in one place as I could (an ongoing process) and 2) I wanted to record the journey to each future match in detail, starting with Los Angeles in 2017.
I have appeared on a few podcasts in recent years which you can listen to by clicking these links: –
