Round 4
Jake MOFFITT (USA) ran away from the field to win the inaugural International Amateur by 7-shots at Innisbrook.

Moffitt shot a final round 66, the best round of the day, to complete an impressive victory on 268 (-17). The Southern Miss player quickly made it clear that he was going to be in no mood to give any encouragement to the chasing pack after going 4-under for his opening five holes on Day 4.
Yixiang WANG (CHN) had to settle for 2nd on -10 with Ben BOLTON (ENG) -7 coming home in an encouraging 3rd.
12 players finished under par with Jake SOWDEN (ENG) the last of these on -1.
The 77 players who made the cut averaged 73.01 (+2.01) in the final round, slightly higher than they achieved yesterday.

Leading Final Results
England’s Jamie VAN WYK and Lewy HAYWARD finished tied 20th and tied 38th respectively on +1 and +4.

Round 3
Jake MOFFITT (USA) grabbed the 54 hole lead on 202 (-12) after recording a superb 6-under 65 in Round 3.
Whilst Yixiang WANG (CHN) gave up the lead he had held for the first 36 holes he remained in touch on -11 after a 70 on Day 3.
Ben BOLTON (ENG) fell into a tie for 3rd place with Lev GRINBERG (UKR) on -6 after two contrasting rounds on the Copperhead Course. Bolton disappointed with a 74 whilst Grinberg shot up the leaderboard with a 4-under 67.
The 77 players who made the cut averaged 72.19 (+1.19) in the third round.

Leading Round 3 Scores
Jake SOWDEN (ENG), 69, and Jamie VAN WYK (ENG), 70, will enter the final day in tied 11th and tied 17th places after recording the two best third rounds by the remaining English contingent.

Round 2
Yixiang WANG (CHN) followed up his impressive opening round with a 68 on the Island Course to retain the lead on 133 (-10).
England’s Ben BOLTON moved into 2nd place on -9 with a ‘best of the day’ bogey free 66 also on the Island Course.
Jake MOFFITT (USA), 69 today on -6, is 3rd and Vaughn MCMEANS (USA), 70, and Cayse MORGAN (USA), 69, are tied 4th on -5.
Round 2 proved to be a slightly better scoring day with the average score on the Copperhead Course falling to 73.83 (+2.83) and 74.12 (+2.12) on the Island Course.
77 players made the top 65 and ties cut which fell at 146 (+3).

In addition to Ben BOLTON, Jake SOWDEN, -1 tied 18th, Jamie VAN WYK, Ev tied 25th, Lewy HAYWARD, +2 tied 45th and Alexander ROWLAND, +3 tied 60th, all made the cut. In the case of the latter three it required clutch 3-under 69’s on the Island Course.

Round 1
Yixiang WANG (CHN) shot a 6-under 65 on the Copperhead Course to take the early lead at Innisbrook in The International Amateur.
Jake MOFFITT (USA), who played on the Island Course on Day 1, and Segundo OLIVA PINTO (ARG), who started out on the Copperhead, are tied 2nd on -4.
The average Round 1 score on the Copperhead Course was 74.01 (+3.01) whilst the field did a little better on the Island managing 74.43 (+2.45).

Ben BOLTON, tied 4th, and Jake SOWDEN, tied 18th, are the best of the nine English players competing this weekend. Bolton posted an encouraging 68 (-3) and Sowden a 70 (-1) on the Copperhead Course.

Preview
The inaugural International Amateur will be played between Friday 19th and Monday 22nd December 2025 at Innisbrook Resort and Golf Club in Palm Harbor, Florida (GMT -5 hours).
Formerly known as the South Beach International Amateur (SBIA), which was played on 14 occasions from 2011 onwards, the event has this year moved 300 miles north west from Miami to Tampa.
The SBIA become one of the world’s leading amateur golf competitions, attracting an international field, and this looks set to continue in its new guise.

This article will be updated on a daily basis once play commences.
Format
The International Amateur is a 72 hole stroke play competition played over four days.
18 holes will be played on both Innisbrook’s Copperhead and Island Courses by the full field over the first two days.
After a top 64 and ties cut (previously top 72) the final 36 holes will be played exclusively on the Copperhead Course.

192 competitors (down from the historic 210) are playing having paid the $510 entry fee.
9 golfers from Great Britain & Ireland (GB&I) are in this year’s starting field. There were 14 last year with the highest ever entry being 19 in 2018.

Innisbrook Resort and Golf Club
The Copperhead Course, opened in 1974, is 7,209 yards long and plays to a par of 71. It is home to the PGA TOUR’s Valspar Championship and is known for its tough ‘Snake Pit’ three closing holes.

The Island Course, opened in 1970, is 7,194 yards long and plays to a par of 72.

Both courses were designed by Larry Packard and have a slope rating of 144 off the Black Tees.
The courses are typical Florida layouts with numerous lakes coming into play throughout the 18 holes.

2024 South Beach International Amateur
Left-handed Miles RUSSELL (USA), then 16, won the 2024 South Beach International Amateur (SBIA) title with a record breaking 264 (-19) total. Russell finished tied 2nd in 2023.

Henry GUAN (USA) -17 finished 2nd, Alex HEFFNER (USA) -15 3rd, Lev GRINBERG (UKR) -14 4th and J. Holland HUMPHRIES (USA) -13 5th.

Tom BASTOW (WAL) and Daniel HAYES (ENG) finished on -9 to secure a tied 16th result.
